It’s been quite some time since the last update on the highly anticipated sequel to Netherrealm Studios’ Injustice: Gods Among Us. Ed Boon tweeted an image with a date in May for the release of Injustice 2. The sequel is now scheduled to release on May 16, 2017. Injustice 2 expands upon the blockbuster fights of his predecessor and allows the players to customize their DC fighters. The various heroes and villains of the DC Universe will be fully customizable for the players as they unlock powerful gear earned throughout various match ups in the game. For the first time in the franchise, players will get to decide how they want their fighters to look, making it so each player’s fighter is different from their opponents.
Injustice 2 continues the story from Injustice: Gods Among Us as the world is still reeling from the brutal regime of Superman and his Justice League allies. Batman and his own team begin to rebuild their world but a new threat will put them all in danger! We’ve seen characters such as Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman set to return but characters like Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, and Blue Beetle are also set to make their Injustice debuts. Ed Boon promised that the sequel would feature an expansive roster of heroes and villains from every corner of the DC Universe. So get ready to battle across the streets of Gotham, to the skyscrapers of Metropolis, and to the depths of Atlantis as Injustice 2 is set to release in stores on May 16, 2017 or Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
