Before the beloved film that is Deadpool began production, concept art had been drawn up by Andrew Leung who had also done the concept art for films such as Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War.
“I worked on an early pitch of Deadpool before a director was decided upon. It’s interesting to see what ended up carrying through and being used in the actual film.”

It’s very cool that we got to see these scenes (or a variation of them) come to life in the film. It seems that, because these images reflect the visions of Reynolds and the writers, they made it into the final version of the film. Hopefully we see the same coalition between the writers and the conceptual artist for the sequel.
