Ubisoft, while already working on a new game for the Switch, might be taking up a second project. With the movie now in theaters and the franchise boasting a strong 9 main games in the series, Assassin’s Creed might be joining the NIntendo crowd along with Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Laura Kate Dale, a journalist who is responsible for several leaks already including the Dark Souls 3 port, confirmed this when asked about it on twitter.

Takashi Mochizuki, a Tokyo technology reporter for the Wall Street Journal, tweeted out last week that “patent filings show Nintendo Switch’s architecture good for open-world games.”
If that’s true, then Assassin’s Creed would join Dark Souls 3, Skyrim, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as the Switch’s already confirmed open-world games, with the door open for more in the future.
With the backlash the series has been getting for some of the more recent releases, maybe the game won’t follow the same fate its predecessors have. Maybe the pressure on possibly being released on all three next gen consoles will push it past the staleness the games have recently been having.
