Marvel’s ‘AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D’ Can No Longer Afford Ghost Rider

Even though we are only up to the midseason break, it is definitely safe to say that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has been amazing in its first half. The main characters have been amazing, and we have seen guest appearances from not one, but two, different versions of ‘Ghost Rider’. The first of these was the lesser known version, Robbie Reyes, and then Marvel followed up with the better known version, Johnny Blaze.

Unfortunately for fans of the character, we won’t be seeing either version for a very long time, due too budget issues. According to the co-showrunner Jed Whedon there were “budgetary concerns” with constantly portraying the flaming skull that is so key to the character.

Despite the fact that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D can’t afford Ghost Rider, that doesn’t mean that we will never see the character again. Hopefully we can still see one of the versions of the character either in the MCU films, or possibly in their own Netflix series, to add to that sectioned off universe.
