Ryan Reynolds Almost Played The Flash Twice

Ryan Reynolds is no stranger to comic book movies. Not only has he played Wade Wilson/Deadpool, but he has also played Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, and was even Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity. What’s very interesting is Reynolds was also considered for the role of fastest man alive, The Flash.

A video surfaced of a Flash video game that was being developed back then. Reynolds was attached to the voice the character.

“The project was developed by Bottlerocket Entertainment, who was mostly comprised of ex-staff members from Sony San Diego. The project also had involvement from Warner Brothers, who had the license for DC Comics’ franchise and character of Wally West. The gameplay was ambitious even in its prototype stage. In its earliest stages, the developers even considered having cameos from other super heroes such as Batman and Superman. The target platforms for Battlerocket’s game were the Xbox 360, Sony’s PlayStation 3 (PS3) and the Nintendo Wii. Villains included Captain Cold, Reverse Flash and Gorilla Grodd.”

Apparently one of the developers Brash Entertainment went bankrupt due to mismanagement and inexperience making games. This ultimately caused the game to be cancelled.

Also back in 2005 Reynolds really wanted to play Wally West/The Flash in a movie. He had a meeting with Warner Bros. and they only offered him to play Green Lantern instead. He eventually did play Lantern, and well the rest is history.

What would’ve happened if he got to play The Flash?
