The latest issue of Empire has brought about a new image showcasing Scarlett Johansson as Motoko Kusanagi (the Major):
The magazine also got a chance to interview the actress, who’s quoted stating the following:
“I’ve been a person without a body, now I’m a mind in a synthetic body. Eventually I’ll go back to playing a body and brain together.”
“This is a ride that’s not just explosive and exciting, but also curious and reflective.”
Whether or not moviegoers are fans of the manga, it seems like Ghost in the Shell will be a film worth going to see.
Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, Ghost in the Shell follows the Major (Scarlett Johansson), a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
Ghost in the Shell will hit theaters on March 31, 2017.
