Jennifer Lawrence has now played Mystique in 3 ‘X-Men’ movies including X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past and most recently X-Men: Apocalypse’. Jennifer Lawrence is a phenomenal actress but her performance in X-Men: Apocalypse made it seem like she did not care for the movie, which is odd because she was great in the previous two films. While promoting her latest movie Passengers along side ‘Star-Lord’ himself, Chris Pratt, in an interview with MTV, Lawrence stated that she would rather appear in Guardians of The Galaxy 2 than in another ‘X-Men’ movie. Check out the clip below…
Well, sorry to disappoint you Jennifer and the millions of fans who would like to see X-Men characters cross over into the MCU, unless Fox and Marvel figure out a deal like Marvel did with Sony, it doesn’t look like that will happen any time soon.
The future of Fox’s ‘X-Men’ cinematic universe is unclear as previous reports have suggested that Fox may be rebooting their ‘X-Men’ universe after Logan which hits theatres on March 3rd next year. If Fox does go ahead with a full reboot, it’s highly unlikely that they would call on Jennifer Lawrence to reprise her role and they would cast a new actress instead. Once Lawrence is out of her contract with Fox, it seems unlikely, but not impossible, that Marvel would cast her in a Marvel movie until further down the line when she has distanced herself from her ‘X-Men’ Role.
