Felicity Jones Contracted For Another ‘Star Wars’ Movie

If you have seen Rogue One, you will know that the film ends about 15 minutes before Episode IV: A New Hope begins therefore making it impossible for the gap between Rogue One and A New Hope to be the subject of a movie.

The fans who have viewed Rogue One will also know that the film ends with the deaths of a lot of the main characters, including Jyn Erso played by Felicity Jones. However, according to THR Jones has a sequel option in her contract.

One point that we reiterate when talking about actors and their film contracts is that just because an actor is contracted for X number of movies, it doesn’t mean they will definitely be in that many movies. It simply means that IF the studio wants to use the character again, then Jones is contractually obligated to return, but LucasFilm doesn’t have to make another movie with Jon Erso if they don’t want to.

When Jones was asked about potential sequels to Rogue One, she replied with the following…

“It’s set up for one. I mean, there’s a number in the title,”

If they decide to make another movie that would be set between Episode III: Revenge of The Sith and Rogue One, or if they plan to include any flashback sequences, then Felicity Jones could make an appearance, but the only films on the current slate are Episodes 8 and 9, and a ‘Han Solo’ spin-off movie starring Alden Erenreich as ‘Han Solo’ and Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. Could they make a ‘Rogue Two’ movie? ‘Rogue Two’ was the callsign for the second member of the ‘Rogue Squadron’ that we saw in Episode V: Empire Strikes Back.

The next ‘Star Wars’ film to be released is Episode VIII which hits theatres on December 15th 2017!

What are your thoughts on Felicity Jones reprising her role as ‘Jyn Erso’ in a future ‘Star Wars’ movie? Do you think we’ll see her again? Make sure you let us know in the comment section below or on our Instagram and Twitter!
