David Ayer helmed this year’s baddie-centered DC film Suicide Squad, which went over fairly well with fans. Among other things, one of the highlights that most agree on is the portrayal of Harley Quinn by Margot Robbie. Now, thanks to the Hollywood Reporter, we have learned that the actress will be teaming up with Ayer once again for a Gotham City Sirens movie.
For those unfamiliar, the Sirens are a cluster of female villains typically associated with Batman. In the recent comic run, the focus was on Harley, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. Nothing of the plot has been released thus far, and we can’t say for sure that this is going to be the exact lineup for the film, though it is extremely likely. David Ayer will be directing and producing, Margot Robbie will return as Harley as well as being an executive producer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet is fleshing out the screenplay. Geoff Johns and Jon Berg will also be involved. Be sure to stay tuned for updates on this project as they unfold!
