It’s always really nice to see actors or directors affiliated with either Marvel or DC have the guts to openly admit that the other studio has its good sides as well – like when Aquaman director James Wan congratulated Scott Derrickson on Doctor Strange. There doesn’t have to be a rivalry between Marvel and DC since both offer fantastic characters and storylines.
Tom Holland, who will (officially) join the MCU as Peter Parker in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, has spoken about his friend Harrison before, and how his favorite superhero is Batman whereas Holland himself prefers Marvel’s web-slinger. The actor recently hosted a Facebook live Q&A during which he talked about another conversation between himself and Harrison.
“And then he was like, ‘So you think you could beat up Ben Affleck?’ I’m like, ‘Nah. Probably no,'” Holland said. “You know, probably not. That guy’s big. I’d probably throw a quick jab in there. I probably couldn’t even reach him, you know [throws a jab]. I mean, what? He’s like 6’4″? He’s tall. He’s a tall guy.”
Holland continued to admit that he is really excited for Affleck’s upcoming Batman movie, too, which has lately been rumored to start shooting during the spring of 2017.
“I’m a big fan of Ben’s, though,” says Holland. “I’m really excited for the new movie, man. It’s going to be awesome.”
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to release on July 7, 2017.
