Rogue One Receives Praises From Franchise Creator; “I Can Die Happy Now”

Two days ago, George Lucas, famed for creating the Star Wars universe, has spoken out about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Director Gareth Edwards is speaking alongside Kathleen Kennedy and the stars of the film, and during the Rogue One press conference at Lucasfilm in San Francisco, California. On Friday, he received an “important phone call,” from George Lucas Himself.

After the half and hour phone call, a conversation that Edwards will “cherish and take to my grave,” he went on to discuss Lucas’ filmmaking methods.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, Donnie Yen, and Forest Whitaker, is set to hit theaters on December 16, 2016.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
