As the news about Spider-Man’s upcoming 2017 movie rolls out gradually, the CCXP in Brazil taking place today has been a goldmine. There have been whispers of a teaser trailer dropping today and the audience has already seen an exclusive sneak peek. One of the more interesting piece of news that came out today is a major accessory in Spider-Man’s new suit. At the conclusion of Captain America: Civil War, we saw the Peter Parker had a way to communicate with Tony Stark in a discrete manner (probably due to Aunt May), and that Tony was going to be a pivotal figure in Parker’s life going forward. Another upgrade that was revealed today is that the upgraded suit will include the web-wings, a vintage accessory straight from the comics. Also revealed today at the CCXP was the teaser trailer and the description is as follows (via Ryan Penagos):
“The Spider-Man: Homecoming footage was short but AWESOME,” Penagos wrote. “Starts from Spidey’s POV [Point of View], talking with Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau). There’s a case from Tony Stark with an “upgrade” for Spidey. Then we see Spidey leap off a building, open his arms, web wings!”
Penago also confirmed that Spider-Man will have the ability to fly and emphasized that the web-wings will resemble the ones from the Steve Ditko comics, a pioneer in the industry and someone who’s been involved with Marvel since its establishment. Also available in the new suit are adjustable eye lens and a mini-computer in the web shooters (akin to what we saw in the Civil War stinger). It seems like Tony Stark will truly be the father figure Peter has been missing. Spider-Man: Homecoming comes out July 7th, 2017. What do you think of the description and the new additions?
