Andrew Kreisberg Discusses Crossover Impact On ‘Supergirl’

Starting this week, fans of the Arrowverse (currently comprised of Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and The Flash) will be treated to one of the largest crossover events on TV, if not the largest. Combining all four shows was no easy task and the storylines all had to fit in during the gigantic events with appropriate impact on each character’s respective shows. Many topics were discussed behind the scenes but ultimately, the “Invasion!” storyline from the comics was the final choice to integrate all four shows together. One of the main characters on Supergirl, Martian Manhunter, will serve as the bridge to connect the alien race and the shows.  The storyline revolves around an invasion with an alien race known as the Dominators. Supergirl was first at bat last night and frankly, fans walked away a little disappointed due to the lack of references and appearances from other shows. It was revealed earlier today that the Dominators will be showing up later in season 2. Andrew Kreisberg, show runner of the Arrowverse, talked about the impact the crossover event has on Supergirl and if the Dominators will show up again after this week’s episodes air at a Q&A session:

“It doesn’t really have that big an impact. She’s the one who brought the light. It was really Barry and Oliver who had to go on the journey and she brought the charm and the fun and the kick-ass-nessThis is not the last you’ve seen of The Dominators. The Dominators will return on ‘Supergirl’ later this season.”

Fans can rest assure that the Dominators will be showing up later on which probably means more references and crossover-related events happening on the show, making up for yesterday’s episode. The crossover event takes place on four seperate occasions this week.
