Producer Kathleen Kennedy has said that the upcoming Han Solo movie is going to feel like a Western film. In an interview with Variety, Kennedy had this to say about the movie:
“This moves closer to a heist or western type feel. We’ve talked about (Frederic) Remington and those primary colors that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film.”
Here is a painting of Frederic Remington below
Han Solo has been known to be the outlaw-cowboy type, so a Western look and feel similar to the painting above, actually makes a lot of sense. This movie is going to explore Solo’s character, and revolve around the adventures of him. It will likely also explore the friendship between Solo and Lando Calrissian, and how Chewbacca became his best mate.
The 2018 film stars Hail Caesar!’s Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Rapper and Atlanta’s Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke in an unspecified role. The movie comes out May 25, 2018, and is directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, who have directed The Lego Movie and 22 Jump Street.
There’s two more Star Wars movies before this one which are Rogue One this December, and Star Wars: Episode VIII in December 2017.
