Michael Shannon Talks Turning Down ‘Star Wars’ and Marvel

In an interview with Fandango, Michael Shannon, General Zod in DC Comics’s Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, talks about him one time being up for a Star Wars or Marvel film.

When asked about if he had any interest in a Star Wars or Marvel movie, he had this to say

“No, I’m not really looking for that. They called me recently about some iteration – I won’t say – but some version of a movie that’s been made already countless times. They were gonna give me a lot of of money, but I was like nah. Big movie, too. But I have to think it’s an interesting story. If I don’t, I can’t do it. I won’t do it.”

With Doctor Strange just released a few weeks ago and Rogue One releasing in December, some would think it was either one of those films. With Marvel set to release one or two movies per year until 2019, it could be easier to point to the MCU. With that being said, we don’t know about the upcoming Star Wars movies and if they’re going to follow the same format of the original trilogy.
