Drax The Destroyer (Dave Bautista) was arguable the most surprisingly funny characters in Marvel’s 2014 movie Guardians of The Galaxy. When the teaser for Guardians of The Galaxy: Volume 2 dropped a few weeks ago, fans got another glimpse at a hilarious interaction between Drax and Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) involving a man-hug. Now, during a Facebook Q&A, when asked about Dave Bautista’s funniest antics on set, director of GOTG: V2 James Gunn praised Drax’s comedic moments in the sequel…
“Everything is funny. He’s the funniest character in Vol 2. Bradley Cooper just saw the movie and talked about how he’s like Zack Galifinakis in The Hangover (in that he kills every line he has).”
Dave Bautista has said numerous times in interviews that he is not an actor so he doesn’t naturally have the skill set. But James Gunn has done an amazing job of putting Bautista in positions that play to his strengths. Gunn did a fantastic job on the first Guardians of The Galaxy movie and you can tell that he is a huge fan of the source material, so it seems safe to say that Drax will be back and funnier and more badass than ever before.
The movie is only 6 months away from being released and James Gunn said it won’t be long until the first official trailer will be released.
Guardians of The Galaxy: Volume 2 hits theatres on May 5th 2017!
