Ezra Miller Discusses The Speed Force In ‘The Flash’ Film

Fans have become acquainted with the Flash through the CW television series, and now have a pretty good understanding of the Speed Force and its relationship to the speedsters, essentially being the source of their powers. Though The Flash film’s director has parted from the project, we are still going to see Ezra Miller’s incarnation of the Scarlet Speedster on the big screen. With this, we will be getting a look at how he interacts with the Speed Force, which we got a glimpse of in Batman v Superman when he appeared to Bruce. In a recent interview, Miller had this to say on the topic:

“Martha Graham, one of my greatest inspirations, said in a quote “There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening.” To me the idea of a quickening, the idea that the whole universe as we know it is essentially this composition of things moving at different speeds is an interesting idea. So, the Speed Force being the force in the sense that it’s a dimensional reality that is manipulating others, almost like a gravitational wave will manipulate others. That is what’s interesting for my Barry Allen. For me what becomes interesting is the human being suddenly coming into contact and rapidly starting to merge with this force, and what that is for a human being.”

Ezra Miller describes the Speed Force in very fine detail, and from this it seems as though we may see a decent amount of scenes really showcasing Barry’s running and the blue lightning emanating from him. Perhaps in slow motion, like with the Quicksilver scenes in the past two X-Men films, we could get a look at the universe from his point of view. This way we could get a sense of how Flash begins to “merge with this force”. Stay tuned for The Flash updates!
