With the next Star Wars movie set on release, in the US, on December 16, 2016, it feels better than ever to be a fan of the now 39 years old sci-fi franchise, and it seems to only go up from here. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the first of Disney and LucasFilm’s Star Wars Anthology movies, with the next one taking a different approach and focus on a young Han Solo and will be focused on the stuck up, half-witted, scruffy looking nerfherder’s life before he met Obi-Wan and Luke on Tattooine. The film is featuring Aiden Ehrenreich as Han, alongside Donald Glover playing the role of Lando Calrissian.
While promoting his latest film, the Rules Don’t Apply star shares his thoughts on working with Glover, of Community and Spider-Man: Homecoming
“I’m allowed to say that I’m really excited about Donald Glover’s casting. I think he’s going to be great in the role because he’s such a talented and interesting guy.”
Aiden also revealed some details about the Han Solo movie
“I can say that Chewbacca’s in the film, although I know that’s not a huge spoiler. He’s as much younger as I am in the film. So, I think he’s like 190 — or something — years old. I don’t think there’s a huge growth spurt for him from 190 to 210, so he’s probably about the same height.”
With the confirmation that Chewbacca will be in the film, there is still no confirmation about who will play the suit. Naturally, everyone’s first thought is to be Peter Mayhew, and with the way things are looking, that is fairly likely.
The Han Solo film, currently titled ‘Han Solo Spinoff Movie’, is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (21 and 22 Jump Street) and is set to be released in theaters everywhere May 25, 2018.
