When Andrew Garfield became Spider-Man, he sat with Tobey Maguire and they spoke about taking on the role. Tom Holland has not done this with either of his predecessors but he has opened up to the Hollywood Reporter about how they are influencing his take on the character.
“I actually haven’t been in contact with them, but it’s so lucky because I’ve got five movies that I can draw from. I watched every single one years before I even got cast in this movie. And then we watched them all again and just picked little things that I thought was great and that I’d like to keep.”
While the previous Spidey films had their flaws, they certainly have great qualities to them that perhaps will be shown in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland didn’t get into the specifics of what these qualities may be, so we’ll just have to wait and pick them out for ourselves when the movie drops on July 7th of next year.
What do you guys think? What attributes from past Spider-Man movies do you want to see in Homecoming? Based on what we’ve seen already in Civil War, do you believe Tom Holland will be the best on-screen Spidey yet? Let us know in the comments as well as on our Twitter and Instagram!
