Aaron Taylor Johnson Open To Returning as Quicksilver

In Avengers: Age of Ultron  we were introduced to Elizabeth Olsen as ‘Wanda Maximoff/ The Scarlet Witch’ and Aaron Taylor Johnson as ‘Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver’. Aside from the accents, both actors did a great job in their interpretations of their respective characters. Unfortunately, Quicksilver died in the final battle sacrificing himself to save Hawkeye. Many fans have wanted to see Quicksilver return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since his death and Aaron Taylor Johnson was asked by Metro whether or not he would be open to returning to the role…

“Yeah, absolutely. I don’t have any knowledge I could share with you if did.”

One of the big problems that some fans have about the MCU is that their characters supposedly ‘die’ and then turn out to really be alive. So far Thor’s mother and Quicksilver are the only two characters that come to mind that have genuinely stayed dead. There is ongoing speculation that Quicksilver will be in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4 but given that both films start shooting back to back within the next couple of months and Taylor-Johnson does’t seem to know anything about returning to play the character, it doesn’t seem likely that he will be a main character.

It’s not impossible that he could film a quick cameo to appear in some alternate dimension that Doctor Strange conjures up, or if Thanos obtains all the Infinity Stones he could offer Wanda Peitro back in exchange for something. This is all  complete speculation on our part. I would be okay with Quicksilver returning given how much I enjoyed the character and how little we saw of him in Age of Ultron.

Avengers Infinity War will hit theatres on May 4th 2018 with Avengers 4 being released on May 3rd 2019!
