Donald Glover Voices Excitement Over ‘Han Solo’ Role

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, actor and director Donald Glover has spoken out about being cast in the upcoming Han Solo film – a Star Wars spinoff. He is set to play a younger version of Lando Calrissian, who is a good friend to Han Solo and was played by Billy Dee Williams in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.

“It’s really crazy,” Glover said. “I don’t know. I’m very honored. It’s a very big deal.”

He went on to reveal that an action figure of Lando Calrissian was actually one of his very first toys ever, along with one of Darth Vader, which he both got from his dad.

“I told my dad immediately,” Glover continued. “He was like, ‘Aww.’ My mom was in the back; she was like, ‘Don’t mess it up! Don’t mess this up!’ ‘Cause Billy Dee — like, that’s hers”

Are you excited to see Glover as Lando? I, for one, think he’s the perfect fit. Sound off in the comments or on Twitter / Instagram!
