Teresa Palmer Interested In Playing Talia Al Ghul In ‘The Batman’

The DC Cinematic Universe (or DCEU) marks the first time the Caped Crusader has existed in a connected universe with other DC Comics heroes and villains and naturally, people are expecting to see new characters that have never been featured on the silver screen. Teresa Palmer (Lights Out, Warm Bodies) has recently expressed interest in playing Talia Al Ghul, Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter and mother of Bruce Wayne’s son, Damian Wayne in Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman movie.

“I was going to be her. I think Marion Cotillard played, I don’t don’t know how to pronounce her last name by the way, um she played Talia Al Ghul in one of the Batman’s, I remember thinking, okay well, obviously she’s going to play Talia Al Ghul, but if there’s ever an opportunity I would absolutely love it. Put it out there. Can you put it out there for me?”

If you remember, in late 2008, director George Miller actually tapped the actress to play Talia in Justice League Mortals, a film that was canceled due to the Writers Guild of America Strike in 2008 and financial issues. While Palmer is interested in portraying The Demon Head’s daughter, some fans, however, are not due to the fact of the Al Ghul family being of Middle Eastern and Chinese decent.

With Ben still hard at work on The Batman script, it’s unsure if Talia or her father would play a part in the film, but with Affleck’s Batman having been protecting Gotham for over 20 years, were betting on the Al Ghuls to be out there somewhere.
