Recently, Ana Kendrick jokingly expressed interest in playing Robin in Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie, The Batman, and fans immediately went vocal on social media about the idea. Split opinions were seen on Twitter and Instagram with Kendrick’s fans loving the idea and some hardcore DC fans hating the idea. Obviously her comments were not genuine and after seeing the reactions, Kendrick has given her own 2 cents on the issue while speaking with BadTaste…
“It’s been interesting,” she said. “We did that skit for MTV, and we couldn’t have been more obviously joking. But, yeah, it’s cool people are taking it seriously. I guess.”
Kendrick then tweeted out the following…
@slashfilm I appreciate that you've filed this under "LOL". 💋People taking it seriously should take a hard look at themselves 🙄

The incarnation of Robin with the tights and the catchphrases certainly wouldn’t fit with the tone of the DCEU, let alone the tone of Ben Affleck’s Batman, but it’s not impossible that Ana Kendrick, even though a lot of her roles have been brighter and more comedic in nature, could have a role in the movie as some sort of aid to Batman. It doesn’t seem likely, but nothing’s impossible when it comes to comic book movies.
Filming for The Batman will being in the spring of 2017 so a early to mid 2018 release date is very likely!
