As Thor: Ragnarok filming is nearing completion, fans are getting excited to see the buddy-cop road movie between Hulk and Thor next year. Director Taika Waititi has previously said that this is the biggest project he has ever done. In a recent ‘ask me anything’ on Reddit, Waititi said that this film wouldn’t be a big departure from just his previous projects…
“I think TR (‘Thor:Ragnarok’) will be one of the most adventurous and most ‘out there’ of all the Marvel movies. It’s a crazy movie. You can expect a Taika-esque tone. They’ve been very accepting of my style. I made an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films. There is a lot of Kubrick coming through in this.”
At SDCC earlier this year, Marvel revealed a new logo for the film which Waititi says is a hint to the 70’s/80’s sci-fi fantasy style of the movie. Waititi also stated that we’ll be seeing a different Thor than we’ve previously seen.
Taika has also said that he wanted to see John C Reilley’s character from Guardians of The Galaxy in the movie. Reilly played ‘Corpsman Dey’ in Guardians and I guess if you’re going to put someone in the movie, John C Reilly wouldn’t be a bad choice.
There is no word yet on the official plot for Thor: Ragnarok but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously defined ‘Ragnarok’ as “the end of all things.” We know that Tom Hiddleston will be returning as Loki and Anthony Hopkins will return as Odin so a part of the movie will most likely focus on finding Odin after Loki impersonated him on the Asgardian throne at the end of Thor: The Dark World. A trailer might be released around April time if not before.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd, 2017!
