Last season on The Flash, Kevin Smith did a fantastic job directing the episode ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’ in which Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) was trapped in the speed-force on a ‘journey of self-discovery’ of sorts. Kevin will be returning to direct an episode in Season 3 which is showing its third episode this tuesday night. But The Flash isn’t the only DC television show that Kevin Smith will be involved in. Smith will also be directing an episode on this season of Supergirl starring Melissa Benoist.
Smith put out a tweet a couple of days ago to express his excitement for his episode…
Just read a script for @TheCWSupergirl I'm gonna direct. LOVE IT! Episode is MASSIVE! Bigger than anything I've ever done! So I'm TERRIFIED.

Given the amazing job that Kevin did on The Flash, it’s great to hear that he’s returning to direct another episode of that show but also an episode of Supergirl. No word yet on what episode Smith will be directing but from the tweet it seems like it’s going to be bigger than ‘The Runaway Dinosaur’.
Supergirl is now on it’s second season. The first season premiere brought in around 12m viewers, dropped to around 7m over the course of the season and then ended on just over 6m viewers. Season 2’s premiere however, even though getting good reviews, only brought in around 3m viewers. Hopefully the good response will see that number rise in time for Kevin Smith’s episode.
Season 2 episode 2 of Supergirl airs tomorrow night on The CW!
