When people hear “Cate Blanchett”, most think of her as Galadriel in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy; and her character in next year’s Thor: Ragnarok might be pretty similar, with the exception that this time around, she’ll be a villain.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Blanchett talked about her experience shooting the third Thor film, and it seems like she had a blast.
“I didn’t get to work so much with Mark, unfortunately. But I did get to work with Chris [Hemsworth] and talk about delightful! He’s just absolutely fabulous. The whole thing was just a riot and fantastic fun.”
Blanchett went on to praise director Taika Waititi’s work on the project:
“Did you see [director] Taika Waititi’s film, Hunt for the Wilderpeople? Or, What We Do in the Shadows? He’s just got such a sure hand. He’s wonderful — I’d eat him for breakfast if I could. He’s absolutely delicious. And he’s irreverent which is great because Marvel, at its best, has its tongue firmly in its cheek.”
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge The Executioner, and of course, Cate Blanchett as Hela. It will hit theaters November 3, 2017.
