Bradley Cooper Discusses ‘Green Lantern’ Audition Process

While 2011’s Green Lantern was anything but a success, fans still loved Ryan Reynolds’ performance Hal Jordan. But before Reynolds was cast in the film, there were¬†many others who auditioned for the role. One of these people was Bradley Cooper, who fans still want to play the ring-wielding hero today. While Cooper now plays Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to talk about past opportunities as a superhero.

While at the American Cinematheque Dinner in celebration of Ridley Scott and Sue Kroll, Cooper talked with THR’s Borys Kit. Here are some tweets she sent out about the interview.

I find this tweet particularly interesting because due to the heavy amount of CGI used in the film, actors had to have symmetrical faces. This just shows that you could be losing talent because of computer effects over practical effects. Finally, Cooper mentioned that a certain Clown Prince of Crime also auditioned for the part.

I would have loved to have seen Jared Leto’s performance as Green Lantern. Thankfully all three actors have now found themselves in suitable roles in major franchises.
