‘Assassin’s Creed’ Film Clocks In At Over 2 Hours Long

With Assassin’s Creed set to hit theaters in just over two months (December 21st, 2016), fans are eager to see one of their favorite video game franchises fully realized in live-action. Most video game movie adaptations have been met with both critical and financial disappointment, but Assassin’s Creed is shaping up to be the film to finally break that trend.

For those who have played the games, you’ll know that it usually takes a while to fully set up the story. With having to set up the present day character and his ancestor, some fans were worried that the film’s runtime (unreleased at the time) would hinder it’s storytelling when it came to these aspects. Thanks to Empire Cinemas, we now know that Assassin’s Creed will clock in at 140 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes).

How do you feel about the runtime? Do you think it’s long enough to keep the film from being crammed story-wise? Sound off in the comments or join the conversation on Twitter @ComicDrops.
