After The NBC show, Constantine was cancelled, Matt Ryan, who played the title of ‘John Constantine’, made an appearance on season 4 of Arrow . Constantine only lasted 13 episodes before it was cancelled but, being a demon hunter, the main character fit in with the mystical tone of Arrow‘s last season, causing Oliver Queen to call John for help.
Ryan has expressed his interest in returning to the role numerous times and he has mentioned it yet again on Saturday at New York Comic Con. Comic Book was at the event and reported the following…
Ryan said that this is the first time he’s been free in awhile, but in this crazy ride of acting, he’s learned to not rule anything out.” He said that in terms of an Arrow return, he’s open to it because: “I love the character.”
This is in no way confirmation that ‘John Constantine’ will return to the show as the actor has said that he is interested in returning two or three times now. The character fit in well with last season because of the mystical/dark arts elements, but now that Arrow has returned to it’s more realistic roots, ‘Constantine’ might not fit in as well as he did previously.
