‘Marvel’s The Punisher’ Adds Three New Cast Members And Gets Official Release Date

After Marvel and Netflix released Daredevil Season 2, fans were very excited to see Jon Bernthal’s version of the character. Since the actor blew away fans (no pun intended), Netflix knew that they had to give him his own series. After Luke Cage released last Friday, Marvel and Netflix continued to bring on the excitement by adding new cast members and giving a release date while at New York Comic-Con.

The show is already filming, which is why it is no surprise that the show will be released in 2017 along with Iron Fist and The Defenders. This is the first time that the streaming platform has released three Marvel shows in one year, but fans are not complaining. While some have been better than others, all of the current Netflix and Marvel projects have been fantastic, some fans calling them better than the actual movies. The gritty and hard edge that the shows have are perfect for the characters on screen, including Frank Castle.

As for cast, we have officially learned Ben Barnes who is playing Billy Russo, an old friend of Frank’s. Check out his officially description below.

Ben Barnes (The Chronicles of Narnia) joins the cast as Billy Russo, Frank’s Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces. He runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil.”

In the comics, Ben Barnes ends up being an antagonist of Frank Castle’s, so this could be our series villain.

Next we have Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, an NSA agent who holds some key secrets.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) will play Micro, a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them.

Finally, we have our good guys, one of which is a homeland security agent named Dinah Madani played by Amber Rose Revah.

Amber Rose Revah (Indian Summers, Son of God) joins as Dinah Madani, a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.

This character seems really interesting because of her interest in the Punisher. Could we be seeing a case very similar to Karen Page in Daredevil Season 2? Only time will tell. You can find out when The Punisher gets released next year.
