‘The Walking Dead’ TV Show Ending Will Differ From The Comics

It’s October, which means that all your favourite TV shows are starting back up again for their next seasons over the coming weeks, including AMC’s The Walking Dead. The season 7 premiere will reveal Negan’s victim from the season 6 finale and fans are eager to know which of the main characters died.

So far, no announcement has been made regarding what season will be the shows last, but according to the show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, the ending of the TV show will be very different from the books. While appearing on AMC’s geeking out, Kirkman said the following…

“I know how I want to end The Walking Dead, the book. But I can’t tell anyone, because I don’t want it on the show before I get it in the comic. So if the show were to ever end, ever, at any point, and the comic was still going, I would have to sit down with Scott [Gimple] and pretend that I have no idea how to end it and work with him to try and come up with a new ending.”

I’m liking the sound of these comments. It’s good to hear that they aren’t just going to end things the same way. We know from various comic book movies that it can be a great thing to differ from the source material and it would be tedious if the show simply followed the comic books. Comic Book readers will know that Negan killed Glenn in the comics but that is in no way confirming that it will play out that way in the TV show.

Season 7 Episode 1 of The Walking Dead airs on October 23rd!!
