Sam L. Jackson Hopes ‘Wonder Woman’ Is Great, Teases ‘Infinity War’

The Marvel/DC debate is one that will continue on for years to come regardless of who has the better movies. For their own reasons, some fans only like DC movies, while others only like Marvel movies which, of course is allowed as all movie is subjective. Meanwhile, the actors of the MCU and DCCU are voicing their hopes for the opposite studios and Nick Fury himself, Sam L. Jackson is joining the list. When Collider asked Jackson about the debate between the two studios, the actor replied with the following…

“Success breeds contempt. Hopefully Wonder Woman will be great too, ya know, because a friend of mine trains her, so I hope it’s good. You know, I think there’s room for everybody to exist out here, and the fact that it’s not working or doesn’t work or people want a specific thing, I mean that’s what makes movies the movies and what makes audiences audiences, so hopefully they’ll make one of those movies one of these days and it’ll be as big as a Marvel movie. “

Jackson was then asked about whether Nick Fury was going to be making an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War and it’s currently untitled sequel, to which he replied..

“I hear him around in 3 and 4. I hear him back.”

It’s always great to see the actors vocalising their aspirations for the other studios to do well. It’s not a case of ‘If Marvel movies do well, then DC movies won’t do well’ or vice versa. As Superman himself, Henry Cavill, said, when Marvel movies do well, it means Comic Book movies are doing well, and that means DC will do well. One of the biggest reasons that Captain America: Civil War didn’t cross $200m opening weekend, was the negative reactions to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

I think Comic Book fans everywhere, especially DC fans, are hoping that Wonder Woman knocks it out of the park next June. While Gal Gadot’s performance as ‘Diana Prince’ was not mind-blowing, it certainly was not the reason for the movie not doing as well.

You can catch Sam L. Jackson as ‘Nick Fury’ in Avengers: Infinity War on May 4th 2018 and it’s untitled sequel on May 3rd 2019! You can see Wonder Woman in theatres on June 2nd 2017!!
