Noah Schnapps Talks ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1 BELOW!

Just when you thought that everything in Stranger Things had been resolved, with the Byers sitting down for a happy Christmas meal, and all the other characters (except for Eleven) doing the same (more or less), Will Byers, the kid everyone had been looking for, heads to the bathroom, only to show to the viewers that he still had remnants of the Upside Down inside him. While that scene alone opens up a new story for next season, there are also other questions that shroud the show. Where is Eleven? Does anyone actually think she’s gone forever?

Noah Schnapp, the actor who played the infamous Will Byers, added his own fan theory to the mix recently in an interview with THR. Schnapp thinks that Byers will have a tough time soon, fighting a darkness inside him, perhaps making him the the show’s next villain.

“Just like you said, I don’t know. But my guess is that maybe he’s going to become evil in the next season. If he’s coughing up these baby Demogorgons, or eggs, or something, maybe he’s incubating or holding these eggs inside of him and he’s trying to fight his good side against his bad side in the next season. That would be cool to see, to see him become evil.”

This has not been confirmed, as the actor says. But he does think that it would be the funnest way to take him on next season as an actor.

“I mean, there are so many ways Will can go in the next season with how they set it up. But honestly, any way would be pretty cool. But it would be pretty cool to play an evil Will.”

He also goes on to talk about what’s going on in Will’s head, dealing with being taken by the Demogorgon, among other things.

“I think Will’s mind is going crazy right now. So much has happened. He’s seen this crazy monster. He’s been in another dimension. He’s seen this other world. He’s probably thinking: ‘What is happening with me?’ When he comes back, I think he’s trying to fit in and act normal. But he’s trying to hide what’s actually happening to him.”

To find out what’s really going to happen though, we will have to wait until next year, when season 2 comes out. Until then, we do have the episode titles out for dissection, and season 1 to binge watch for the 12th time. No? Just me?
