Time Warner CEO Says Affleck’s ‘Batman’ Film Is “A Year & A Half Out”!

Earlier this week, Time Warner CEO and chairman Jeff Bewkes talked about the state of DC Films during an investor call. But now thanks to The Suicide Squad Podcast we have full audio of the CEO’s comments, including a bit where he speaks on the status of the highly anticipated Batman solo movie. After talking about Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad the chairman says:

“Ben (Affleck) announced a Batman movie. He’s going to direct, star, write. I think it’s a year and a half out.”

A year and a half from now would be around March 2018. Affleck would have to start shooting soon for the movie to release then, and while that’s possible, Bewkes may mean that production will begin around March 2018. If it began shooting near early 2018, it’s possible that the untitled DC movie slated for November 1st, 2019 is Ben Affleck’s solo Batman film. The chairman’s comment’s are brief but what do you think about where the Batman solo’s production status is? Are you hopeful for a 2018 release, or do you think a 2019 date sounds more likely?
