While many considered Captain America: Civil War to be a third Avengers film rather than the third Captain America film, the large ensemble of heroes was still missing two key Avengers in Thor and the Hulk. Since before the release of the film, fans speculated as to which side the heroes would be on; either Team Captain America or Team Iron Man. Thanks to the upcoming release of Civil War on digital HD and blu-ray, fans have been able to see small bits of extra footage and bonus features released by Marvel online, including the most recent release of a video previously shown at San Diego Comic Con. This video answers all the questions previously asked by fans regarding what Thor was doing during the events of Civil War, which can be viewed below.
Contrary to popular belief, Thor was not out in the cosmos searching for answers regarding the infinity gems. Rather, he was conducting research in his small bedroom while living in Australia with his new roommate, Darryl, living the “normal” life as opposed to the God/superhero life. Even though Thor did not participate in the “civil war” with his fellow Avengers, apparently he did try to reach out and help, crafting several “electronic letters” and even offering to send a raven. The humorous video presents the God of Thunder in a completely different light, showing Thor as a down to earth guy. Instead of Thor wanting to join either Team Iron Man or Team Captain America to help in the “civil war” and fight, it appears he simply just wants friendship and is rather hurt when neither of them respond to his offers of help. Thanks to the release of the new video, fans no longer need to theorize whether Thor would be Team Captain America or Team Iron Man – he was Team Thor.
Thor will make his next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe alongside Bruce Banner in Thor: Ragnarok which will arrive in theaters November 3rd, 2017.
