Doug Liman Drops ‘Gambit’ To Direct DC’s ‘Justice League Dark’

Justice League Dark is a film that Warner Brothers and DC have been trying to get off the ground for a while now. Originally, Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro was set to direct the ensemble film but ultimately left the project to work on Pacific Rim 2 – a project he soon left, as well. Since then, updates on the film have been nonexistent until now. According to Variety WB has hired Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow, Mr & Mrs. Smith) to direct the upcoming DC film.

Also along with the announcement of Liman directing JL Dark, it has also been revealed by THR that the director has left Fox Marvel’s Gambit, a film that has had multiple delays over the past year or so. It’s highly unlikely that the film will begin filming later this year as originally planned, but the studio is actively searching for a new director.

How do you feel about Doug Liman taking on Justice League Dark? Do you think that Gambit could still happen despite setbacks? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter!
