Their chemistry on and off set have apparently paid some great dividends. According to sources at Variety, Ray Fisher’s Cyborg will appear alongside Ezra Miller in The Flash solo film, though a representative at Warner Bros. declined to comment.
It remains to be seen just how vital his role will be in this movie, but Warner Bros. clearly isn’t scared of negative and mixed critical reviews, as they’ve shown no signs of slowing down the DCEU hype train, and I applaud them for it. Cyborg had a small cameo in Batman V Superman, but his appearance in Justice League will get average movie audiences more familiar with the character, and it seems this move will only add sugar to the taste DC Entertainment is hoping fans will acquire from the superhero team up. Ray Fisher is mainly known for his work as a standout broadway actor, but making the transition to film has been made easier due to his very experienced co-stars.
If you’re unfamiliar with the character, that’s okay, as many of those who won’t delve too deep into comic book history don’t typically pick this character as their first reading option. Injured in a freak accident, high school football superstar Victor Stone undergoes heavy treatment through new scientific experiments by his father, who works for Lex Luthor’s company. His cameo in BvS showed this, where the alien technology – the mother box – latched onto what little remained of his human body, transforming him into a part man, part machine built being. Keeping his humanity is one of Victor Stone’s greatest tests he’s had to battle within the history of Cyborg comic books.
The Flash is being directed by Rick Famuyiwa, and stars Ezra Miller as the titular character, and is expected to run into theatres on March 16, 2018.
