Second ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Teaser Released

After we have reported all week about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and prepared ourselves for the trailer that is coming tonight, Lucasfilm had one last teaser up their sleeve to show us, and it has some new footage. Check it out below.

The very short, 15 second clip doesn’t show us much, but gives us an idea of what we will see when the trailer drops tonight. The clip begins with Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) walking into the Rebel base and is immediately followed by Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) walking through a group of Imperial officers. Based on rumors and the parallels of their characters’ movements in the trailers I feel like there is going to be some connection between the two. With confirmation that Mads Mikkelsen would be playing Galen Erso, Jyn’s father, and no mention of her mother, we have to wonder if Krennic might be involved. The clip continues by showing us one of the most mysterious shots of the trailers, a hooded figure kneeling before a bacta tank. It does not appear to be Darth Vader or the Emperor, so who could it be? We’ll have to find out when the film comes out. The clip concludes with a new line from Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) who says “We have a mission for you.” and then it pans over to Jyn’s face. Then we see a quick shot of the Death Star again with the now famous alarm sound.

Overall the clip was a great tease for what is to come tonight. Stay tuned to the site tonight because we will be covering the trailer as soon as it drops. The trailer is expected to release tonight during the Olympics on NBC, similar to The Force Awakens trailer from the Monday Night Football game back in October. We are expecting it anywhere between 8pm EST to 10pm EST.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released December 16th, 2016 and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, and Mads Mikkelsen.
