Jared Harris Rumored To Be In Talks With Marvel Studios For A Villainous Role

When everyone within Marvel Studios makes it their business to keep every last detail regarding their expansive cinematic universe top secret, fans tend to rely on rumors for the latest information regarding the MCU. Some rumors are certainly more plausible than others; however, all rumors should be taken with a hint of skepticism. The latest rumor regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes from a user on Reddit, who claims that Jared Harris is currently having a discussion with Marvel Studios to play a villainous role. Harris is known for playing Professor Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Anderson Dawes in Expanse.

“I work for an agency that works with many different actors, and so I’m used to hearing various ‘rumors’ and I always take things with a grain of salt myself, but I have some information today that is more tangible than ever before. I have word that Jared Harris is meeting with Marvel Studios for a villainous role. Harris has met with Marvel before and was in consideration before for various roles, but either Harris or Marvel couldn’t agree on the role. Still, both parties are persistent in exploring possible avenues, and this has lead to the latest meetings. All I know is that this villain will play a major role after Phase 3, and likely won’t make an appearance for another 2-3 years in a major capacity, but Marvel loves to sew their seeds early and plans are already underway.”

Avengers: Infinity War and the recently untitled Avengers film slated for 2019 are both expected to feature the Mad Titan Thanos, but it is unclear what Marvel’s plans are for the MCU after these films. If Marvel is planning on continuing their cinematic adventure, new villains are certainly in demand, preferably ones that can follow an act like Thanos. Some And if Marvel wanted to slowly set up another major villain like they are currently doing with Thanos, now is definitely the right time to start casting. However, since there has been no official word from Marvel at the time, this remains a mere rumor, but it is surely a credible one.
