First Official Poster For ‘MARVEL’S LUKE CAGE’ Released

Coming this September, Marvel’s Luke Cage will further flesh out the Defenders Universe on Netflix, which currently consists of two seasons of Daredevil and one season of Jessica Jones, both of which were extremely well received by both fans and critics.

Ahead of the Luke Cage panel at SDCC, which will take place on Thursday, July 21 at 5:45pm, Marvel Television and Netflix unveiled the very first official key art poster for the upcoming show.

The poster was created by Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada, who, speaking with Netflix, commented on the star of Luke Cage, Mike Colter (who made his debut on Jessica Jones last year).

“You’ve got one shot to encapsulate a character with a pose that’s provocative and that you hope will someday be iconic. Mike gives Luke a smoldering strength. He’s sexy and calming. And the ladies love it,” Quesada said.

We might also see a first trailer being shown at the panel this week, but for now you can check out the poster below:

All 13 episodes of Luke Cage season one, starring Mike Colter, Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley, Rosario Dawson, Sônia Braga and Erik LaRay Harvey, will be available for streaming on Netflix September 30, 2016.
