Jake Gyllenhaal To Star In Movie Adaptation Of ‘The Division’

Tom Clancy’s The Division has had tremendous success, as it has been one of the most sold video games this year. Being set in a near dystopian future, the player is part of the Strategic Homeland Division, trying to rebuild New York City after it went down in chaos after a massive smallpox epidemic.

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Southpaw, Everest) has now signed to both play the lead role in and produce a movie adaptation of this video game hit; a trend that seems to be picking up.

Gyllenhaal has previously starred in the adaptation of Prince Of Persia, and now joins Michael Fassbender, who will portray a never before seen assassin in this year’s Assassin’s Creed, and Tom Hardy, who is attached to Splinter Cell.
