Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn is ‘Pretty Vicious’

In the latest issue of EW, the females of the Suicide Squad  cast opened up about their roles in the upcoming film. Particularly, fans are ecstatic about seeing Harley Quinn on the big screen for the first time, and are even more excited about how Robbie seems to be handling the character.

From the trailers we’ve seen, she is doing a great job capturing the crazy/ humorous side of the Joker’s right hand lady, but in that particular interview she revealed that director David Ayer wanted to take the character in a bit of a different direction:

“David [Ayer] really wanted her to be strong, badass and nuts – but fun as well. Whenever I would be inclined to play into the comedy or play her more likable, he’d always direct me the other way. He wanted her to be pretty vicious.”

We know that Harley is a mix of these characteristics; for those of who you have played through the Arkham games, we know how psycho she is capable of getting (especially when she believes Batman has killed her love). Her mix of intellect, humor, and lack of sanity all meld to give us a character for all to love, and we only have to wait a few more months to see her on the big screen.

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn? Do you prefer the darker Harley compared to the more playful/ humorous Harley? Let us know in the comments and on our Twitter and Instagram!
