Jesse Eisenberg has confirmed he will be returning as Lex Luthor in Justice League.
This comes after huge negativity towards his character in Batman v Superman. Eisenberg took the character of Lex Luthor in a very different direction for the movie, making him more comical than maniacal. This cause an uproar from comic book fans and movie-goers alike, who found the character annoying and wimpy. Now, Zack Snyder does not seem to want to waste any time on the character, using him in his newest DC film.
Eisenberg confirmed his casting at the MCM London Comic Con, saying that he will only make an appearance. Justice League has been under production since April, so Eisenberg noted that he is just waiting for the call.
Eisenberg’s role will most likely be small in the film, due to the movie already shooting. It was also recently announced that Ben Affleck would be taking a role as Executive Producer to help Zack Snyder tackle the huge task of directing Justice League.
Justice League releases November 17, 2017 and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot.
