Fan Starts Petition To Remove Snyder From ‘Justice League’

Following the extremely mixed reactions to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans have been debating on what they believe the problem is. With the film sitting at 31% on Rotten Tomatoes, some believe it’s time for a change. Whether you agree with the current score or not, there’s no denying that the negative reaction to the film is quite disheartening. Fans believe that the cause of all the hate towards this film stem from director Zack Snyder, who has been under fire from critics for years. When asked about his view on the negative reaction to Dawn of Justice, Snyder had this to say:

I’m a comic book guy and I made the movie based on that aesthetic. And i don’t know how else to do it 100%, so it is what it is.”

With less than two weeks until Zack Snyder and the rest of his team head to London to begin production on Justice League, Bryan Cruz had created a petition to remove Snyder from director’s chair and replace him with someone else. The description of the petition reads as follows:

“Zack Snyder is not the person to being the Justice League to the big screen. He’s had two chances now to adapt DC characters and has proved middling results. Even if you loved Man of Steel and BvS, there has to come a time when WB and DC want someone at the helm that can create something that won’t divide people in such a way. The building blocks are there for a great different set of superhero movies. Good actors and actresses and even directors. Zack Snyder is just not the guy that should be in charge of the biggest and most important films in the franchise. Especially with his track record now.”

Me personally, I don’t think it will happen, or that it should. Zack Snyder is a comic book guy who makes comic book movies for comic book fans. Maybe that’s not how it should be, but that’s how it is. Changing directors now could mean the end of the DCEU before it really even begins. Trying to change directors this close to shooting would be like trying to pull a pizza out of the oven before it’s done cooking. Give it time. Snyder has a GREAT team behind him and I believe they can create something special with the Justice League. I for one loved BvS, I like Snyder’s vision and the direction he’s taking the DC Cinematic Universe. Let’s also not forget that there is a Director’s Cut of Batman v Superman coming in a few months. Like Watchmen, I believe people might enjoy that version more than the theatrical. I still have faith. How about you?
