J. K. Simmons Joins ‘Justice League: Part One’ Cast As Commissioner Gordon

Huge breaking news from The Hollywood Reporter this afternoon. The news outlet is reporting that J. K. Simmons, mostly known for his portrayal of J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Rami’s Spider-Man trilogy, will star alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, and the rest of the Justice League as Batman’s ally and Gotham City Police Commissioner, Jim Gordon. This news comes as a shocker to most people. Just last week Simmons expressed interest in returning to his role of Jameson in Marvel’s upcoming MCU Spidey reboot. This casting puts to rest the rumor that’s been floating around for a year now that Jim Gordon is dead in the DC Extended Universe. With J. K. Simmons winning Best Supporting Actor in 2015 for Whiplash, we can now have four Oscar winning actors in DC Extended movie universe. Justice League Part One is set to begin production on April 10th.
